Towards the Extraction of Language Features for Assessing the Quality of Students' Academic Texts

Constructing academic texts poses a significant challenge, particularly for students in their first year of university education. It is equally challenging for educators to identify the strengths and weaknesses within these texts and to have some data to help in the evaluation process. This research aims to explore language complexity measures that can be employed for grading scientific texts written in Spanish by undergraduate students and to probe if these measures could be reliable for grading automatically these texts.

Ikasleek ikasketa-maila bakoitzean izan beharreko laburpen-gaitasuna ondo zehaztuta izatea oso garrantzitsua da irakasleak ikasleak ulertu duena sakontasunez jakiteko eta feedback egokia emateko; tamalez, beharrizan horri ez zaio behar bezala erantzuten. Horri buelta emateko, laburpenak lantzeko proposamenak egiteaz gain, nahitaezkoa da proposamen horiekin ikasleek nola jardun duten ondo aztertzea eta emaitzak biltzea, horrek emango baitigu ikasleek ikasketa-maila bakoitzean laburpenak biltzen dituen trebetasunetan izan beharreko maila zehazteko bidea.

CLARIAH-ES es una red de investigación estratégica constituida inicialmente por investigadores españoles que están relacionados, por su participación anterior y su interés actual, con las actuales infraestructuras europeas de investigación, ya constituidas como European Research Infrastructure Consortium o ERIC, para las humanidades y ciencias sociales: CLARIN (www.clarin.eu) y DARIAH (www.dariah.eu).
